It wouldn’t be a far-fetched thing to say that Lando Norris is a generational talent. Even though in the half-a-decade the McLaren star has driven in Formula 1, he hasn’t had much to show for it in terms of podiums and race wins. However, fans are aware of the abundance of talent the Brit possesses. F1 isn’t all about your driving talents, though. It isn’t a secret that what’s been holding the 23-year-old back is his team and the fact that they haven’t been able to give him the car his talents deserve.

2020 through 2021 were very promising years for the Woking-based outfit. During the slump Ferrari faced during that time, they even managed to finish P3 in the Constructors’ championship. It seemed that the only way for the team was up. But after faltering on the new regulations brought about in 2022, the team was pinning their hopes on 2023 for a fresh and strong start. However, by their own admission, the team has missed its mark. The season is yet to officially begin, but as per the rumor mill, both McLaren and Norris are in enormous trouble.

In an interview for Sky Sports F1, Norris said, “Maybe we didn’t explore as many paths as we should have done and when we got on the right path it was a little bit too late.” We saw last year that the team did start on the back foot, but as the season progressed, they got their act together. Be that as it may, that isn’t enough to challenge the top three, and Norris knows it. What’s more? The fans know it, too.
