Ferrari are back! The Italian team won their first race in a while in Formula One after 46 attempts. Charles Leclerc let home a Ferrari 1-2  with Carlos Sainz at the first race of the season. The triumph has captured the imaginations of everyone and has sent Italy into celebration mode. Many Italian newspapers could not hide their excitement after Leclerc’s victory.

The newspapers all across the world captured what was an enthralling first race of the season. Many have proclaimed that the Monegasque driver will challenge Red Bull driver and current world champion Max Verstappen this season.

Can Charles Leclerc beat Max Verstappen in 2022?

As reported by GPBlog, many prominent newspapers have boldly claimed that the Ferrari driver outclassed the world champion at the Bahrain Grand Prix. They published hard-hitting and eye-catching headlines on the front page to recall the win.

Marca, a prominent Spanish newspaper, wrote,” Charles tamed the beast Verstappen. Max overtook Leclerc five times, but the Monegasque passed him back just as many times. It was an epic battle that tastes like more.”

While Gazzetta claimed Charles has broken the curse. ”Finally, Ferrari, finally the red has returned. As in all fairy tales, it was the prince who broke the curse. It’s a triumph that wipes away two years of technical weakness, suffering, criticism, jokes, and even caricatures on TV. At the start of the new technical era, with completely new cars, Ferrari was ready for it: a victory in the first race and an unforgettable double.”

It is certainly an impressive start for the Italian team in a new season. But it would be interesting to see if they can hold on to their advantage going into the next round in Saudi Arabia next week.
