Fans are used to seeing harsh weather during an F1 Grand Prix weekend. Having rain or extreme heat is nothing new to the racing community – an F1 track has seen it all. However, there have been instances where tracks have been covered in snow. And recently, the Intercity İstanbul Park in Turkey had a blanket of snow over the main straight of the track.

The F1 community didn’t take long to react to the snow-covered track. So without any further ado, let us how the racing community reacted to the bizarre conditions to take place on an iconic track.

The world of sports is still trying to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic. But, it also provided an opportunity for the Turkish Grand Prix to take place in 2020 and 2021. However, in 2022 they might not return, but it is the conditions around the iconic track that caught the attention of the Formula One fan base.

The Intercity İstanbul Park was covered with snow, making the track look even more majestic. And, soon the F1 world reacted to the snow-covered track.

One user wrote, “Still more grip than in 2020,” while another said, “To be fair, it was really entertaining to watch. Teams and drivers had no idea what’s going on. Comparing 2021 to 2020, 2021 was borefest.”

A user commented, “2021 will always be legendary for Seb trying to blag it on slicks and immediately radioing in saying “its not working” Hardest I’ve ever heard my dad laugh was when we were sat watching that live.”

One person commented, “Finally something Bottas can dominate.”

A user stated it would favor one of the F1 teams. He said, “Red Bull have the advantage here now.” Another said, “How mad would it look as a promo to see one of the cars rolling down that straight at walking speed.”

A Reddit comment said, “To me it looks like a good 4-5 inches of snow. Without some modification I doubt the car would be able to make it through that. If it was like an inch or two though yes, that would be an epic picture.”
