Lawrence Stroll is right up there when talking about the richest of the richest in the F1 world. So one would naturally expect his son to be blinged out as well. Nevertheless, every driver is subjected to the wrath of the stewards if he makes a mistake Such was Lance Stroll’s breach at the FP2 session in Canada that caught the eyes of the Stewards. As a result, they handed a $1080 penalty to the $50 million worth Lance Stroll. Although what was the breach for this petty penalty?

Lance Stroll has been under scrutiny after his subpar start to the season when compared to Fernando Alonso. While it is understood that Alonso is a better driver owing to his experience in the sport, Lance Stroll has been terribly slow compared to the Spaniard. However, many including Fernando have come to Stroll’s defense explaining the Canadian has suffered bad luck & is no slow poke.

Nevertheless, Lance Stroll made another naive error during this week’s Canadian GP Practice session. The stewards caught the home hero over speeding into the pitlane and attracted a $1080 petty penalty. The pitlane speed limit is 80 kph (50 mph) and Lance Stroll entered the pit at 97.8 kph (60.7 mph). However, it doesn’t matter much to the $50,000,000 worth of Lance Stroll as a mere $1080 fine doesn’t put any dent in his pocket.

Fortunately, it was only the Practice session hence no grid or time penalty was awarded to the Canadian. The entrance to the pitlane in Montreal is a bit tricky as it’s straight on from the back straight on the circuit and judging the braking point can be tricky. However, F1 drivers are expected to make it with the level of skill they have. Let’s see what Stroll Senior’s expectations are from this weekend’s race. 

Lawrence Stroll expects a double podium in Canada

Fernando Alonso made recent comments after the podium-less Spanish GP that Barcelona was the last race where an Aston Martin would not be on the podium. After Alonso’s high expectations m, Lawrence Stroll piled on his expectations suggesting that he expects to see both the Aston Martin cars on the podium this weekend. He advised that the car will be very strong around Montreal.

According to Motorsportsweek.com Lawrence Stroll said “Those are exactly the plans. Hopefully, get two cars on the podium. I’m extremely confident. I believe the car will be very strong around the Montreal circuit, it suits our car well… so I’m really looking forward to going home and really looking forward to a great race.”
