Well, it looks like there is no end to the conflict between Lewis Hamilton and FIA. Ever since the season finale in Abu Dhabi last season, the relationship has been patchy, to say the least. The Mercedes driver recently accused FIA of having biased stewards in the sport.

When asked what he wants to see differently in the 2022 season, Lewis quickly mentioned that he would like more women stewards and non-biased Stewarts.

Lewis Hamilton slams some Stewards

As reported by GPFans, the 7-time world champion clearly mentioned that he hopes the stewards would be impartial this season. The Mercedes driver cheekily revealed that the decision-makers have relations with some drivers on the grid.

“We need to make sure we get non-biased stewards. Racing drivers, some are very, very good friends with certain individuals. Some travel with certain individuals and tend to take more of a keen liking to some of them.”

Reportedly Hamilton‘s comments did not sit well with the governing motorsports body and they too put out a statement.

“The FIA is proud of its global stewarding pathway that connects and develops the most talented stewards from across motorsport. This has resulted in a strong, independent, and experienced group of officials who carry out their work with impartiality and the utmost professionalism,” said the FIA.

It is indeed a powerful statement from the FIA to the rest of the grid. Both Hamilton and the governing body of motorsports need to sort out their issues before it gets ugly.

Public comments from the 7-time world champion towards them and their racing stewards are not a good sign for FIA. It would be interesting to see if Lewis has anything further to add on this after the statements put out by the governing body.
