The 2022 F1 chapter came to a close with the FIA Gala concluding in the wee hours of December 9th. As always, we witnessed the drivers and teams being awarded for their achievements. However, Ferrari’s dark season was paraded on the big screen and Charles Leclerc couldn’t help but watch in agony.

It was not surprising to see only Leclerc turn up for the Gala night amidst Mattia Binotto’s resignation. The Monegasque was present to collect his trophy for finishing second in the championship. However, despite the honor of finishing second in the championship, the Ferrari man could only recall the frustrating moments.
“It’s been a long season. Obviously, we’ve seen the images. Quite a lot of frustrating moments, but also some very good ones,” he confessed in his acceptance speech.
The images Leclerc mentioned in his speech are a specific montage of pictures displayed during the ceremony. At the ceremony, a video montage showcased all the frustrating incidents from Ferrari’s 2022 campaign. The engineer failures, the crashes, and even Leclerc’s soul-wrenching scream during the French GP.

The frustrating video obviously caught Leclerc’s attention as well as he mentioned it in his speech as well. However, the contents of the montage now have the fans calling the FIA out for the poor edit.
Charles Leclerc, among others, questions the Ferrari video montage presented by the FIA
After showcasing the wins in the first three races, Ferrari’s video montage took a dark turn and only showcased the low moments of the team. Whoever curated the video has made their case to Netflix’s “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” to hire them.
A thought expressed by the fans.
the video they were showing at the fia gala for f1 could’ve been the dts s5 trailer… it was so dramatic and for what?? They really did charles dirty showing all of his bad moments and especially with his radio from the french gp 💀😭 it was a compilation of ferrari fuck ups

If you have not watched the video montage yet, some fans were kind enough to share the video as well with their extremely expressive thoughts.

This looks like a Ferrari edit someone did for social media not something that was shown at the FIA Gala 💀 pic.twitter.com/pWj309pYbX

The questionable edit definitely has got the world of F1 talking. However, poor Leclerc is gathering a lot of unnecessary media attention because of it, being the only one representative Ferrari at the Gala.
Serious message. dear Ferrari, we understood that perhaps you were aware of that offensive video, endorsed by the Fia, aimed at emphasizing the failure of the team, the driver and Binotto. But your silence this time makes the image of Leclerc left alone in the media storm. Move!

In the end, the brutality of the video is leaving fans in shock. The fact they showcased it during the Gala makes it even worse.
Let’s hope Ferrari can control the narrative before the 2023 FIA Gala.
