Carlos Sainz has had a rather exciting Formula 1 journey so far, showcasing visible improvements with each passing season. His journey began with Red Bull Racing’s sister outfit, Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) followed by a brief stint with Renault (now Alpine) and McLaren. And following the end of 2020, Sainz made a leap to Ferrari.

A very commendable journey so far for the Spaniard, and not many in F1 often find themselves driving for a prestigious team like Scuderia Ferrari.

Hence, considering he is one of the rare few, there is no denying that Sainz would be pleased with how his racing career has shaped up so far, with more success potentially awaiting him in the coming years amidst Ferrari’s desperate pursuit of glory.

What did Carlos Sainz say?

As reported by Speed Week, Sainz acknowledged that he has made more friends than he had initially expected to make. “I have the feeling that I’ve made friends in most cases,” he said.

And I try to maintain good relationships, even if in some cases you don’t see each other that often. I see some of the former team members as my friends, and when we meet in the paddock, we always exchange a few words.”

I also keep in touch with the Renault people and even Red Bull Racing, for whom I once worked as a simulator driver. It is of course easy to lose sight of each other in the turbulent everyday racing life. But, it’s always nice when you meet again,” Sainz concluded.
