After what felt like a decade of Max Verstappen’s dominance, Ferrari finally broke past the dominance screen and scratched the pole away from Verstappen. Yes, we’re talking about Carlos Sainz getting the pole position in Monza in front of Tofisi by beating Max Verstappen. Despite Verstappen’s boastful claims, Ferrari’s stroke of genius makes Carlos Sainz the favorite to win the Italian GP. But how?

The Dutchman, who’s generally very competitive, seemed very calm as he advised how Red Bull still has the measure on Ferrari in terms of race pace. Verstappen explained how keeping the tires alive will be an important challenge. Despite Max Verstappen’s boastful claims, it is believed that Carlos Sainz has a chance at winning the race. Former Ferrari boss Peter Windsor explained how Carlos Sainz is in good form at the moment and might as well go and get the win for himself and the Tifosi.

According to Peter Windsor’s YouTube video, he said, “I would say right now, that Carlos Sainz is in really good shape. Because if he’s doing that kind of a lap time, it appears, he’s going to back away from that limit and start looking after the tires in a way that a Ferrari driver hasn’t been able to do for a long long time. There’s quite a significant advantage in terms of Lap time. Because of the top speed and the way the car has been set up and he can start to look after the rear tires”

The lap time and straight-line speed are super quick and just finding the balance with tire wear will be the key to winning. Despite Verstappen having the strong rear, if Carlos Sainz looks after his rear tires, he’ll definitely be in the race for a win. As Carlos Sainz explained the emotions he was going through after getting the pole, he promised to do everything or anything to keep the P1.

During the post-race interviews l, Carlos Sainz said “I’ve had goosebumps ever since I crossed the finish line, and looking at the crowd on the in lap. Seeing all the support and encouragement is the best feeling as an athlete. Tomorrow I’m gonna give it everything to keep P1.”
