Years have passed, and the driver of the red car has undergone shifts from Fernando Alonso to Sebastian Vettel to Charles Leclerc, but destiny hasn’t. For the last 15 years, the Prancing Horse has been without a championship. During that period, there have been several transitions, but none of them have been able to put an end to Ferrari’s title drought. The current Ferrari boss, who has been the Tifosi’s glimmer of hope during their darkest hour, appears to be moving in the direction of Canada of putting a stop to this protracted dry spell. So what is Ferrari’s team principal Frederic Vasseur up to?
The sluggish SF-23 has just been brought to light by the Frenchman. The Prancing Horse is having one of their worst seasons ever in 2023 as a result of a variety of problems that have beset the team. Sometimes reliability problems occurred, and other times tire issues transpired making it challenging for Ferrari to survive. Additionally, Charles Leclerc‘s momentous crash has just added to the complexity of the problem for Scuderia.

Furthermore, the team that was Red Bull’s primary rival last year has dropped all the way to P4 so far this year. Only 100 points can be earned for the Maranello side. Mercedes’ enhancements appear to be working, allowing them to overtake the Scuderia, just like Aston Martin did previously with ease. The pressure seems to be getting worse for Vasseur with every passing day since he was hired after the squad severed ties with Mattia Binotto, who at one point got the team near the championship.
Vasseur appears to enlist some assistance for him and the team after weekends, like the Australian Grand Prix and the Spanish Grand Prix, knowing that it will take some time for the squad to once again reach the heights. However, the technicians have started to transform the face of SF23 in Spain, where the team delivered some critical changes but that didn’t work out to Ferrari’s advantage. After Binotto’s goodbye, it is clear that Ferrari has failed numerous objectives.
And now, according to Formu1a.uno, “Fr?d?ric Vasseur’s group is in need of reinforcements but needs time to settle down after Mattia Binotto’s farewell. In Maranello, they are preparing to travel to Canada to study the development of the Ferrari SF-23 EVO.” The Prancing horse probably wants to study how to extract more speed out of their weapon.
Although Mattia Binotto’s contributions to the team are noteworthy, the mounting stress of being associated with a name like Ferrari has drawbacks of its own. Though Frederic Vasseur is the only one with the ability to alter Scuderia’s fate. The Frenchman was told to bring his “knuckle dusters” by his sparring partner, who had these exact same thoughts.
Frederic Vasseur gets hailed as the “right man” to rescue Ferrari from their current predicament
With seven races under his belt as a Ferrari boss, it is safe to assume that Vasseur had been under a lot of pressure. The man might have felt the same heat that Jean Todt and Binotto might have felt. Vasseur’s activities are eagerly anticipated by the large Ferrari fan base, who is hoping to witness the end of the team’s championship drought.
The Frenchman, however, is finding it difficult to keep up with Mercedes, Aston Martin, and the championship’s dominant leader Red Bull. In the midst of this, he had support from former Formula One driver and three-time Le Mans champion David Kennedy, who oversaw the Status Up team in GP2 and GP3 when Vasseur was in charge of the ART.

The expert believes Vasseur is the best person to help Ferrari out of their current jam. In an interview with Planet F1 he said, “In my book, I don?t think you could get much better than Fred Vasseur. He?s got a fantastic pedigree.”
While advising Vasseur to wear “knuckle dusters,” Kennedy added, “Fred has been running race teams for eons and they have been outstandingly successful so I think, provided they give him the latitude and he wears his knuckle dusters, he can make a big difference.”
