It was as smooth as it gets as Carlos Sainz secured the second race win of his career. The Spaniard drove incredibly and with a brilliant tactical approach right till the end. Sainz was brilliant throughout the weekend and deserved the win, especially after his tactical approach to the race. The first stint where he got tactical help from his teammate Charles Leclerc and from old teammate Lando Norris till the very end. However, this help from Leclerc did not pay any dividends as a Ferrari 1-2 tuned into 1-4 thanks to a poor pitstop. This has made the Tifosi disregard Sainz’s win and sympathize with their favorite Ferrari man.

There is no doubt Leclerc is the Tifosi’s favorite as all the expectations of ending the championship drought are on the shoulders of the Monegasque. “I knew this race was going to be difficult for me from the first stint. I had to protect Carlos. We had a slow pit stop, which put us on the back foot,” said Leclerc.
