Absolutely untouchable and untouchable is how Max Verstappen has been in the 2023 season so far. 11 wins and 9 in a row, The Dutchman is miles ahead of the competition. However, the Italian GP gave some hope to the beloved home team to put a dent in Verstappen’s attempt to yet another extraordinary personal record. In fact, after the qualifying sessions, Charles Leclerc issued a warning to Verstappen for the race. Regardless of his form, the reigning world champion made a humble admission for the upcoming race.
The Ferrari men had a brilliant outing during the qualifying which resulted in P1 and P3 positions on the starting grid. After the qualifying session, Leclerc made a confident statement. He said, “Max Verstappen can be beaten.”
Despite his dominating form, a usually ruthless Verstappen made a humble admission as seen on Twitter. He said, “It’s the classic things the drivers have to say, they need it. If they really thought I was unbeatable they would give up everything. For me, it is a very normal comment. Every driver needs to feel the strongest”

Carlos Sainz from P1 and Leclerc from P3 will give it their all to keep the Dutchman behind throughout the race. However, with history as proof and the superiority of the RB19, it will be a mountainous task.
In fact, with history again as proof, the Dutchman isn’t too worried because of this worrying aspect of the SF-23.

Sainz put a mega lap and put his car on pole for the race. Keeping the Red Bull man behind him just there for 53 laps is what the Spaniard & his Monegasque teammate hopes for. Although everyone, including the Ferrari men themselves, is aware of their biggest weakness. Verstappen also highlighted this problem while discussing his chances during the race as he faces the Ferrari challenge.
Verstappen told the media, “I felt good in FP3, we are generally stronger in the long runs. I’m not too worried, of course, they [Ferrari] will be quick at the start, and then it’s about who can keep their tires alive the longest.”
