If you tuned into the US Grand Prix, you would’ve caught a spicy exchange over the Ferrari radio. But before we get into the juicy details, let’s address the elephant in the room: Charles Leclerc’s tooth. No, it wasn’t the dreaded wisdom tooth acting up but rather a dental abscess. Sky Italy reports that our favorite Monegasque racer is battling a nasty bacterial inflammation. Ouch! Maybe he should get a sponsorship deal with a toothpaste brand? Just a thought! Apparently, amid all this, Ferrari did not make things comfortable for Leclerc in America…

Charles Leclerc was set in pole position in COTA to take an elusive 6th win in F1, after sounding warning bells on Saturday. Apparently, it just isn’t possible for the Ferrari star to get a straightforward lights-to-flag win. It was the same old story of his Scarlet car dropping down the order from the helm of the field continued in Austin.

F1 often throws these unexpected twists and turns, much like a thrilling drama series we eagerly await every week. Case in point? Anything related to Ferrari. Now, even Leclerc’s mysterious bout of inflammation joins this series of comedy & chaos that poked him further to seemingly have a tiff with his teammate Carlos Sainz.

An ailing Leclerc has to deal with on-track drama from the Scuderia. Amidst the race’s strategic ballet, Ferrari radio buzzed with some intriguing chatter:

Ferrari: “Should we continue with Plan C or switch to Plan D?”
Charles Leclerc: “Plan C ruined my race!”

Talk about getting straight to the point! As if that wasn’t enough, Charles added a pinch more salt to the mix:

Charles: Why did I have to let Sainz by? Let’s speak after the race.”

Looks like someone’s post-race debrief might be more heated than the Texas sun! It’s never dull in the world of Formula 1, especially when dental drama intertwines with team tactics. Here’s hoping Charles gets some relief from his toothache and that the Ferrari strategists have a good dentist on speed dial!

In a classic case of a racer’s perpetual quest for perfection, Leclerc seemed both satisfied and frustrated after the US Grand Prix.

A Leclerc bite back

Sharing his views on the strategy he was given, Charles confidently stated, “Couldn’t do any better with that strategy. I think I maximized everything.” However, as all racers know, strategy isn’t everything. The real scorecard is the race result.

Complimenting Leclerc, Xavi (his race engineer) remarked, “You managed the tires well.” And while most would take a moment to bask in such praise, Charles, ever the perfectionist, retorted…

“Doesn’t matter when we have such a s**t result.”
