The dynamic of the No.1 driver is only believed to be followed at Red Bull racing. However, every top team has their unofficial No.1 top driver which the team will never admit to. Mercedes has Hamilton, McLaren has Norris and in Ferrari’s case, it is Charles Leclerc. Bias towards Charles Leclerc got exposed as a battle to destroy prejudice against Anti Hero Carlos Sainz recently erupted. What was exposed and what is the battle all about?

Charles Leclerc has arguably been the better driver during his time with Ferrari with Carlos Sainz as his teammate. Some might even say that the Spaniard didn’t live up to his expectations. However, it was Sainz who grabbed the pole in Monza by beating Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen to it. An Italian Sports Journalist has now come out to defend the Spaniard.

Leo Turrini advised that Carlos Sainz was perfect in every way during the Monza GP qualifying session. He explained how the Spaniard was able to put all the pieces together during the final run and gave the Tifosi a moment to cherish for the rest of their lives. Beating the dominant Max Verstappen to get the pole at Ferrari’s home race. He then advised on the Tifosi having a prejudice toward Leclerc. However, the Monza pole is the moment that will destroy this prejudice.

According to @FanaticsFerrari’s tweet, Leo Turrini while talking about Sainz being an Anti-hero said, “Sainz, in his own way, is an antihero. The fact is not lost on him that the majority of Ferrari fans have a soft spot for his work colleague, Charles Leclerc. It is not easy to find a balance, in a psychological context objectively unbalanced in favor of the Monegasque. But Carlitos is succeeding and the pole in Monza confirms his refusal of the status of a follower.”

Not only in Monza, Sainz’s performance at the Dutch GP was super impressive where he was able to fend off against the speedy Lewis Hamilton and bring the car home to score a handful of points. A race where the Ferrari was predicted to struggle a lot. However, a former F1 champ thinks that Carlos Sainz’s pole might come down to politics at Ferrari.

On both the runs in Q3, Charles Leclerc was the lead Ferrari out of the pitlane. In the end, Leclerc lost the pole position by only half a tenth, which very well could’ve been made up with the help of slipstream. Nico Rosberg advised the same as he questioned the internal politics at Ferrari by suggesting the help that slipstreaming provides at Monza.

According to @FanaticsFerrari’s Tweet, Nico Rosberg said, “I think Charles Leclerc made a slight mistake in the team internal politics there. It shouldn’t have been that Charles tows Carlos two times in a row. If you get the slipstream right here, it’s a huge help.”
