Formula 1, if you look a little deeper, is nothing but a power struggle between two entities. The two entities trying to purchase ownership, two companies trying to secure licensing deals, two teams, two drivers, and more often than not, two drivers in the same team. We come across this scenario in almost every team and since the F1 summer break, Ferrari has been home to a similar power struggle. Charles Leclerc has been the undisputed No.1 driver at Ferrari for quite some time now. However, since the summer break, Carlos Sainz has disrupted this tug of war and pulled this preferential rope a little on his side of the garage. Ferrari proved this scenario with its latest social media activity and Leclerc’s fanbase isn’t happy.

Carlos Sainz pulled up his socks after the break and even secured the team’s only win in the current season in Singapore. Ever since the second race win of his career, the Spaniard has changed the F1 world’s perspective toward him. In fact, some started considering him Ferrari’s #1 driver after his back-to-back brilliant performances. This shift in dynamic was proved by Ferrari’s race week announcement on social media.

The Italian shared a post on X captioned, “One down in the triple header, and we’re more determined than ever for the next two 👊 It’s #MexicoGP race week 😍” In the post, we see a creative of Sainz and Leclerc with the SF-23 and few Mexican elements to start the excitement for the coming race weekend.

However, the fans noticed a scenario which has left them fuming at the Maranello outfit.

Why are Charles Leclerc fans fuming at the post shared by Ferrari?

The fans are angry with this particular social media post because of the way Sainz and Leclerc are edited in the post. We see a massive portrait of Sainz on the creative with a tiny Leclerc on the side.

At first look, one can only see a massive Sainz, and Leclerc’s miniature version is on the side. This blatant favoritism toward Sainz is the reason behind the fans’ fury and it’s evident in the reactions to the tweet.

The fans not only questioned the social media strategy but also the fact that Leclerc suffered through yet another disappointing race at the hands of his team. The Tifosi are wishing for a better result in Mexico with a touch of skepticism.
