There is a reason why Lewis Hamilton is a 7x champion in Formula 1. Well, for starters, he’s been blessed with an unimaginable wealth of racing talent. But talent can only get you so far, as so many of the drivers in this brutal sport have realized. The real deal is when that talent gets mixed in with a fighting mentality, a winner’s persona. Recent events that have developed between Hamilton and Felipe Massa actually act as the perfect segue to this point.
Massa is out for blood, and some would say that he is actually 15 years too late! Nonetheless, the long and the short of the story is this: Massa wants that 2008 world championship to be credited to him and not Hamilton. For obvious reasons, the Crashgate, Massa has threatened a $13,000,000 lawsuit against F1 and the FIA to get his alleged dues. But an interesting development has triggered an absolutely brutal response from the 7x champion himself.

In the recent past, Massa’s army of lawyers have tried playing mind games with the Brit. They have publicly asked Hamilton to lend his support for Massa’s cause per multiple outlets. And now, the other antagonist, Bernie Ecclestone who ruled the world of F1 during the concerned look-back period has now suggested a lawsuit to come from Hamilton regarding the infamous 2021 Abu Dhabi GP.
But in all the chaos, Hamilton has put both of them down with one simple response. At Singapore, Hamilton was quoted as saying, “If that’s the direction that Felipe wants to go, that’s his decision. I prefer not to focus on the past.”
“Whether it’s 15 years ago, two years ago, or three days ago. I’m only interested in the present and my focus is on helping my team this week.”
While Ecclestone is trying hard to get a reaction out of the Brit with his Abu Dhabi comments, the 92-year-old has also brutally given his verdict on Massa’s attempts.

Felipe Massa has potentially threatened his legacy in this sport with his proposed lawsuit against the FIA and Formula 1 Management. And when people like Bernie Ecclestone are hell-bent on adding fuel to the fire, Massa may actually be regretting this decision he has made.
Calling a spade a spade, the ex-F1 ringmaster told Swiss newspaper Blick, “The Massa clan is only in it for the money. But the chances of that are zero.”
