There’s a good chance that anyone who dreams of becoming a Formula 1 driver also dreams of racing in the iconic red colors of the Ferrari. And that’s no different for the 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. His decision to depart from his Mercedes contract a year ahead of schedule to join Ferrari in 2025, caught many by surprise. When asked about his reasons for switching to the Scuderia, he said that it was his childhood dream to drive in the red, remembering how he often used to assume the role of legendary driver Michael Schumacher when playing Formula 1 video games as a kid. But it looks like it wasn’t his dream alone.

According to a recent tweet, Anthony Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton’s father, recently shared insights into his son’s aspirations. He expressed that Lewis joining Ferrari is not just a milestone for the racer himself but also a fulfillment of dreams shared by both father and son. While acknowledging the significance of Lewis’s journey with previous teams like McLaren and Mercedes, Anthony emphasized the allure of the iconic scarlet-clad Ferrari cars.

Anthony said, Part of my dream, part of his dream. It’s one of those things; when you’re a young kid, you always dream of racing for Ferrari. We love all of the past teams, McLaren and Mercedes but it’s the ultimate dream to be in a red car.”
