“It’s Over”: These words could spell doom for any F1 driver unlucky enough to be in Nico Rosberg‘s pre-race spotlight. Just ask Max Verstappen. After Rosberg’s seemingly innocent prediction of Verstappen claiming pole position at the Italian GP, the Dutchman lost out to Carlos Sainz. Now, with Rosberg shifting his “benevolent” gaze towards Ferrari, Tifosi hopes are hanging by a thread. Is the Rosberg Curse set to strike again?

The stakes are undoubtedly high. Rosberg’s simple Instagram declaration—”Forza Ferrari”—could become the most ominous words for the Tifosi and the Scuderia this season. It’s not just superstition; past races like the Hungarian GP provide sufficient anecdotal evidence. Rosberg posts a picture, and the Dutchman’s streak of pole positions comes to a screeching halt. Even the indomitable Lewis Hamilton hasn’t been immune to the supposed curse despite securing pole in the Hungarian GP, he couldn’t make the most of it. Even though the post read “Forza Ferrari,” given the track record, it may as well have said, “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.”

Nico Rosberg has had an intriguing post-retirement life as a YouTube personality and commentator for Sky Sports F1. However, his penchant for seemingly “jinxing” races is what’s drawing attention now. Verstappen, the latest in a series of drivers to allegedly fall victim to the ‘Rosberg Curse,’ missed out on pole position at the Italian GP, right after Rosberg pegged him as the favorite.

To make matters more unnerving, the German’s latest social media post is aimed at Ferrari—precisely when Carlos Sainz has claimed his first pole of the season and at none other than Monza, Ferrari’s home soil. The premise is simple yet bizarre: if Rosberg posts a pre-race selfie or makes a favorable prediction about a driver, the said driver mysteriously underperforms.

Tifosi’s furious demand—”Tell him to delete”

Given the folklore around the so-called ‘Rosberg Curse,’ it was inevitable that the fans would react strongly to his latest post. The Tifosi are urging Rosberg to remove his ‘Forza Ferrari’ post, seeing it as a dark omen that could potentially ruin the Scuderia’s home race. It’s reached a point where fans are collectively crossing their fingers, hoping that a simple act of post-deletion could save their team from misfortune.
