“Dreams Cost Nothing”: Realistic Carlos Sainz Demolishes Tifosi Hope Despite Being the Fastest in Practice Session

The temple of speed is always a special race for a Ferrari driver. Carlos Sainz, who turned a year older yesterday, gave the Tifosi a birthday gift by topping the FP2 session at Monza. After a disappointing weekend at Max Verstappen’s home race, this came as a welcome change. However, despite being the quickest, the Spaniard destroyed the Tifosi’s hope with a realistic statement. What did Sainz say? 

Ferrari was predicted to struggle at Zandvoort due to the nature of the track not suiting their car. However, Carlos Sainz put up an impressive show and kept the speedy Lewis Hamilton behind him. After the FP2 session, Carlos Sainz revealed how the car instantly felt at home on the track at Monza. However, he then broke the Tifosi’s heart by advising that this doesn’t guarantee a pole and that Red Bull has a much better race pace.

According to formulapassion.it, Carlos Sainz while explaining the SF-23 adaptation to the Monza track said, “This does not mean that we will be in pole position tomorrow and that we will win the race on Sunday, but at least the sensations on the car are much better. Can fans dream? Dreaming costs nothing. Especially on these tracks, we can all dream and nobody takes it away from us. However, Sainz didn’t stop the Tifosi from dreaming about a win. He just put out what the reality of the situation is. Just like Sainz, even Leclerc advised that the car felt much better than Zandvoort as he debriefed his Friday sessions.

Charles Leclerc was happy with the high fuel pace

High fuel performance has been Ferrari’s Achilles heel this season. Earlier in the season it was the tire degradation on high fuel loads and now it’s the balance. Nonetheless, Leclerc gave some confidence to the Tifosi as he explained how high fuel run and balance was great but low fuels was a bit of a struggle. But the Monegasque sounds confident and knows the tweaks that will make the low fuel balance better as well.

According to Formula1.com, Charles Leclerc said, “I mean, really good on high fuel. On my side, I struggled quite a bit more on low fuel. I think we know what to do for tomorrow. I went in a bit of a different direction, so we need to reset a little bit for tomorrow and focus a bit more on the low fuel runs, as we were struggling a bit with the balance of the car there.” He added, “I know what to do for tomorrow, so I’m not too concerned.”
