Ever since Charles Leclerc announced his breakup with Charlotte Sine at the end of last year, he’s been in the public eye more often than not. Since the Monaco GP, though, the spotlight on him has increased. And it’s not because that was his home race or anything. Instead, it was because that was where his new relationship became official. With all the extra-intense eyes on him since then, his new girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, has come under the spotlight, too. And it hasn’t been for the best reasons.

Last time out, at the US GP, Alexandra faced fire because of who she was spending time with. While Leclerc was out on track, Alexandra watched the action alongside his best mate, Joris Trouche. Although that may seem wholesome—Leclerc’s girlfriend and his best mate getting along—fans didn’t look at it that way. A week later, it’s her fashion choices that have led to criticism.

If you know Leclerc and his paddock fashion choices, they aren’t top-tier. He’s usually adorning a Ferrari shirt with jeans. But not on Saturdays. On Saturdays, Leclerc is like a splash of red, walking around the paddock. He pairs his red Ferrari shirt with red pants. Why? “There are no real reasons. I don’t know, one day I did it, and the qualifying went well. I liked the red pants. So I was like, ‘Let’s keep it like that,’ and since that day, I don’t think I ever did a Saturday without the quali red pants.”

While Leclerc’s paddock style has come across as questionable at times, it was Alexandra who stole the (unwanted) spotlight at the Mexican GP.

Charles Leclerc’s girlfriend did not have the best idea at the Mexican GP

Striding into the paddock with Leclerc’s trainer Andrea, Alexandra wore a black sweetheart neck top and paired it with a long, flowy, yellow skirt and flats. Seemingly unsuspecting, she must not have seen the criticism coming her way, courtesy of her skirt and footwear. Fans didn’t show her any mercy on Instagram.

One user wrote, “Thought the skirt was a bit outrageous. Too big. But she is so pretty!” We don’t know if it was outrageous or anything, but it was sure yellow!

It’s like ever since Leclerc and Alexandra started dating, she’s only being compared to Charlotte, Leclerc’s ex. More often than not, fans don’t paint Alexandra in a good light, and it comes off as hate. Keeping this in mind, another user wrote, “No hate but that skirt 🫠”

What most people were concerned about was that the skirt looked see-through. “I hope this skirt has a lining underneath because from what I can see it looks transparent. It’s not criticism, just caution.”

With the see-throughness of the skirt, many thought her choice of clothing wasn’t the wisest decision: “Why did she think this was a good idea to wear?!”

Her skirt wasn’t the only thing that fans disliked. The flat sandals she wore weren’t a big hit either. No matter how expensive or luxurious they were. A user wrote, “Can we ban every wag wearing those Hermes sandals from the paddock”

Another user couldn’t help but compare her footwear situation to 2016 champion Nico Rosberg’s. Whenever he wears his Hermes flats to the paddock, it’s probably disliked more than the Rosberg curse. “The Nico Rosberg trend of using Hermes sandals in the paddock needs to be gone 😭”
