Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari have had an unexpectedly tough season this year. Ferrari is facing some power unit issues, and the SF1000 has become really difficult for Sebastian to drive. Sebastian has won four world championships. However, the champion has failed to secure a podium or a pole position all season.

Meanwhile, former F1 driver Marc Surer was reported stating that in his view, Ferrari have given up on Vettel.

He said, “They actually gave up on him. I don’t think they are deliberately discriminating against him. But somehow they just saw that they weren’t going to bring him forward.”

Marc Surer views the curious case of Sebastian Vettel

Marc Surer pointed out Laurent Mekies’ statement at the end of the Imola race. Sebastian Vettel was in the race for a podium. However, a 13.5 second pit stop catastrophe dropped him to a P14 finish. According to Surer, the comment at the end of the race implies that Ferrari have written Vettel off.

Surer believes that Vettel knows how to win races and bring trophies home. However, he believes that Ferrari seems to be more focused on Charles Leclerc than Sebastian Vettel. In his view, this was because Leclerc gets along much better and is currently the future of the team.
