The Italian team endured two tough seasons in 2020 and 2021, where they were fighting in the midfield. But this season they are back at the front of the grid and are fighting for wins and championships. So Berger revealed it is a bit harsh to criticize Ferrari for Monaco’s failure.

The Austrian surprisingly revealed that we must all congratulate Ferrari’s team principal Mattia Binotto for bringing the team back to the front. He also mentioned that the team is slowly getting back in shape.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Berger said, “Ferrari has been criticized incredibly harshly for the tactical mistakes made last Sunday. As a matter of fact, we have to congratulate Mattia Binotto and the team for putting together a car that was faster than we could have imagined a few months ago.”
“Ferrari are slowly getting back in shape and they had a great car in Monaco. I think being second and fourth in the race is not a disaster,” said the former F1 driver.

“I think Red Bull is generally better at reacting during the race,” Gerhard told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “We should not forget that last year in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen did not seem to win the world title, but his team called him back to the pits and provided him with a fresher tire, so he could attack Hamilton. Horner and his crew have something extra in this respect.”
