The 2023 season is a go with the season opener in the Bahrain desert. After Bahrain, all the teams are focusing on the upcoming Saudi Arabian GP. Keeping in mind their performance in Bahrain, Ferrari has many concerns and needs many improvements. However, the Italian team has a fresh set of worries ahead of the race in Jeddah. There is going to be yet another change in Ferrari’s senior management in this extraordinary 2022/23 extended silly season.
The Scuderia was way off from their expectations in the race in Bahrain. This scenario was utterly opposite to what the many and the team back in Maranello was predicting. If the pressure of an underperforming and unreliable car yet again wasn’t enough, the team now has to find a replacement for their head of vehicle concept.

According to a report from The Race, David Sanchez, the head of vehicle design and a highly regarded member of the team, has resigned after providing a decade of service to the Maranello-based team. The Scuderia did not wish to comment on Sanzhez’s departure.
The Frenchman joined the team Maranello outfit as chief aerodynamicist from McLaren. After a slow start to the hybrid era, Sanchez played a key role in Ferrrai’s revival. Sanchez was a key figure in the SF-23’s design and development as well. The underwhelming 2023 challenger is not thought to be the reason behind Sanzhez’s departure. However, the concerning factor is the Frenchman will take a considerable leave and join a rival British team.

The team boss, Frederic Vasseur, has additional issues on his hands with Sanchez’s resignation. The boss believes the car has the potential to catch the Red Bull RB19 with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz behind the wheel. However, Sanchez’s resignation and gap in development could hamper that potential and crush the championship hopes.
The boss communicated that in terms of a conceptual issue. “I never experienced in my life a car going to be quick on one lap and for a conceptual issue to not be fast in the long stint,” said Vasseur. “My point of view is it’s more a separate issue, and an issue that we have to learn more [about] to know what we are doing well and then to come back next race stronger.”
