He is also one of the two drivers who are yet to score a point this season. This does not bode well for Haas, who has improved in 2022 and is looking to compete with the likes of Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri. F1 journalist, Joe Saward revealed the German is on a lookout for a move ahead of the 2023 season.
Is Mick Schumacher on the way out next season?
Monaco is not the first time Schumacher Jr. has crashed into the barriers. During the Saudi Arabian GP, the Haas driver crashed and as a result, he suffered some blows. Subsequently, he did not race in Jeddah and it took a chunk of Haas’ budget to repair his car.
He is also been a part of the Ferrari driver academy since 2019 and sees a future with them. Joe Saward in his column revealed the Italian team can intrude if Haas decides to let go of Schumacher.
He wrote, “It is a similar story with Mick Schumacher who keeps having big crashes while trying to out-do Kevin Magnussen. This is wearing thin for Haas and there is talk that it would probably like a different driver next year, although Ferrari does have a say in the matter.”

In case Haas are looking for other options, Schumacher naturally has to look for another team in F1. Interestingly, rumors around Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel do not seem to vanish. So, according to Saward, Mick and his team are looking at a move to Aston Martin to replace his friend and mentor Vettel.

“The rumour in Monaco is that Mick’s people are now looking at other options for the future and that Aston Martin might be a good choice for him because he’s German, younger and less hairy than Sebastian Vettel, and he is not too fast for Lance,” he added.
