The Ferrari F1 team saw a turnaround in 2021 after a disastrous 2020 campaign. And many people are betting their bucks on the ‘Red Team’. They are convinced Ferrari will perform admirably in the all-new 2022 season. That includes McLaren driver Lando Norris and Red Bull boss Christian Horner.
However, Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari’s son and 10% owner of the company, Piero Ferrari, is still not sure of how it will play out for the Maranello team, or any other team, for that matter.
The duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will look to take the historically rich team back to the top. Ferrari recently announced they will name their 2022 car F1-75. They did this in honor of the 75th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari starting the Scuderia’s first engine.

Since the inception of the turbo-hybrid era in F1, the ‘Red Team’ has come close to the men from Brackley twice in 2017 and 2018, but Lewis Hamilton clinched both titles with a comfortable lead in the end. Now, many expect that power dynamics will change in the 2022 grid, but not necessarily in someone’s favor.
Piero Ferrari deems new F1 rule changes similar to MasterChef
The Vice-chairperson of the Ferrari group has shared his concerns about the rule changes. In a recent interview reported by SoyMotor.com, Piero Ferrari compared the new rules to the famous cooking reality show MasterChef.
“To the friends who ask me to explain what has changed in the regulations, I tell them that it is like in MasterChef, they gave us the ingredients and then there is someone who cooks a delicious dish and someone less,” said the Italian.
He went on to say that although he has read the new rules, they were not easy to understand. “The rules have not been modified, but have been rewritten. I read them, but it was really hard for me to understand them,” added Piero Ferrari.

The ‘Red Team’ will launch the all-new F1-75 on the 17th of February. In another revelation, Piero revealed he has seen the car but remains to be tight-lipped on any further update. “I saw the model in the wind tunnel. What caught my eye? Let’s wait for the 17th,” he said to finish.
