Even the most professional and fastest racers in the world can sometimes showcase an immature side of themselves. This side usually erupts after an on-track altercation between two drivers which ends up hampering one’s race or qualifying. This became a common scenario between Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz toward the end of the first half of the season. Both Sainz and Gasly impeded each other on multiple occasions but it was the British GP race incident that ticked Gasly off the most. The Frenchman’s reaction to the incident was not subtle. Despite being deemed childish for his actions, there was a lot of tension between the two. However, during the Dutch GP Thursday presser, the two diffused FIA’s plans.
Six weeks ago when the Ferrari man impeded Gasly, the Alpine man confronted him, belittled him, and even discredited him via his Instagram story. In light of these incidents or mere coincidence, the two were sat next to each other during the Dutch GP drivers’s press conference. However, as reported on Instagram by user f1gossippofficial the two sullied all FIA’s plans for an explosive interview.

According to the report, the two were sat next to each other again. However, instead of a bust-up as many would expect, the two were cordial throughout. Both drivers interacted with each other throughout the interview.
Let’s say, the FIA’s sadistic plan to get a mouth-wateringly dramatic interview failed miserably. Perhaps the summer break helped cool the two down, especially Gasly.
Before the summer break, the Frenchman had a lot of critical thoughts about his Spanish compatriot.
Pierre Gasly calls out Carlos Sainz for his unsafe and disgusting impeding
This incident hampered Gaslys qualifying for the Canadian GP. Sainz’s unsafe actions during the qualifying and obstruction of Gasly knocked him out of the qualifying in Q1. It was more painful as his teammate went eighth fastest. This is exactly why Gasly made a fiery statement toward Sainz and also highlighted his past crimes.

He said, “I’m absolutely disgusted with this qualifying. It was extremely dangerous what happened in front of me with Carlos. “It’s true that it’s not the first time it’s happened with him [Sainz], but I’m completely disgusted.”
He also claimed, “It’s a lap that put us easily in the top 6.” which again highlights his frustrations.

Well, all’s well that ends well and it seems there are no lingering ill feelings between the two. At least at the moment, we are not sure if this statement will remain true after the Dutch GP.
