The Tuscan Grand Prix is all set to make its name for two purposes. Firstly, it marks the 1000th F1 race of Ferrari. Secondly, a series of crashes saw the race going hellbound. If one wasn’t enough for the day, the drivers were involved in two crashes within the first 8 laps.
Initially, the crash involved Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly. The Red Bull driver was trying to get off the herd, taking the outer course. Moments before he accelerated, Gasly was squeezed as three cars stormed into a tight left-hander. Max was rear-ended and crashed into the side barrier. Gasly followed suit in quick succession.
Following the crash, the Safety car was summoned. After the safety laps race resumed. However, the resumption was not at all sweet. As the drivers got involved in another crash. This time the magnitude was severe and the safety car had to be summoned for the second time.
