Fernando Alonso has been maneuvering his AMR23 with accuracy ever since he took the wheel. The driver who was seen struggling with penalties at the Miami Grand Prix last year performed extremely well this year and took a podium. The Spaniard now ranks third in the driver’s championship after showing some admirable skill at the Florida circuit. However, the brains behind the Silverstone-based team’s success appear to be a little curious about two of its competitor teams, namely, Ferrari and Mercedes.

Only Aston Martin has been able to compete with Red Bull’s enduringly powerful spectacle. The sparkling green squad is still two to three-tenths slower than Red Bull’s blistering speed, so even that close is still too distant. However, up until this year, Ferrari and Mercedes were the only teams to consistently place on the podium, but this year the two giants of the sport have remained inconsistent.

Dan Fallows, the driving force behind Aston Martin, has a question about how Mercedes and Ferrari are going to react to this. According to SoyMotor, Fallows stated that the only thing that separates the three teams is their car concepts, and he is very interested in finding out whether any of the teams can improve their concept in the coming few weeks.

As stated by the technical director of the Silverstone-based team, he said, “There are differences of concept between us, Ferrari and Mercedes, but at present we all have a very similar pace. From this point of view it is difficult to say that either of our two rivals is following the wrong path. I am very curious to see if any will really change the concept.”

Fernando Alonso has only missed the podium once this season, during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which indicates how much better the man is getting as he ages. However, the formidable Red Bull is impeding his ambition to claim the 33rd triumph of his career. Nevertheless, it appears that Fernando Alonso’s dream of winning the championship can be fulfilled next year.

Will Fernando Alonso be locking horns with Red Bull at the top next year?

With four out of five podium finishes, Aston Martin has had an incredible start to the season and is now free to consider how they can catch up to chase down Red Bull, who is currently leading with blistering speeds.

When the team arrives at its new factory, work will begin on the chassis design and development. And in order to achieve Alonso’s goal, the Silverstone teams appear eager to begin work while maintaining the momentum of the AMR 23. Dan Fallows claims that the AMR 23 will change for the upcoming year and that the intention is to begin the procedure as soon as possible.

As quoted by Racefans, the technical director said, “We definitely want to start next’s year car as early as we possibly can. The game really for us is to make sure that we don’t sacrifice this year’s car. Inevitably it will be a form of evolution of this year’s car. So everything we can do to get data, to get updates on this year’s car will certainly inform it. But yes, we will be looking to start as early as possible.”
