Fernando Alonso’s behavioral turnaround in the 2023 season stunned the F1 paddock and fans. He has been going out of his way to support his teammate, Lance Stroll. But journalist Peter Windsor believes that Alonso’s public facade might be masking underlying personal wants.
Back in the day, Fernando Alonso was known for his hot temper and erratic behavior. Because of this, he did not get along too well with his teammates or the mechanics in the garage. And that is the same persona that fans might have expected to see when the Spaniard returned to F1 in 2021. But his 2023 character has been a pleasant surprise for everybody as he gels along with his entire team. But Windsor has a contrary own take on the subject.

In a recent YouTube Live, Windsor spoke about Fernando’s “perfect teammate” persona. He said that Alonso is doing so, partly because his teammate is struggling and so that he gets in the good books of billionaire owner, Lawrence Stroll. He further said that Alonso won’t be the same nice guy on the day Lance Stroll out-qualifies him.
If Alonso’s aim is to get in Lawrence Stroll’s good books for some personal motive, he might have already achieved it.

Fernando Alonso started his own clothing line in 2017, named Kimoa. However, in 2021 owing to 3.2 million dollars in losses, 75% of the brand was sold to Revolutin Brands, a US-based group.
This year, Lawrence Stroll came in as a savior for Alonso. Aston Martin partnered with Kimoa and gave it the much-needed boost to improve the brand. As of today, Kimoa has a separate brand page on the Aston Martin website. They have also launched the “FA AMF1 Collection”, in collaboration with Alonso’s Kimoa.
