The driver who terminated Michael Schumacher‘s impeccable 5-year championship run was Fernando Alonso. The 41-year-old Spaniard, who is now the oldest driver on the F1 grid, appears unstoppable after joining the Aston Martin. In the Constructors championship this year, Aston Martin only finished seventh. Hence, it seems it would take some time before they became a top team. However, Fernando Alonso will be looking for outcomes. According to Mike Krack, team principal of Aston Martin, the group needs to be ready for its biggest challenge as the Spaniard has a reputation for being incredibly picky about his cars.

Talking with AstonMartin.com, Krack said, “Fernando is a very direct driver and person. Drivers like Fernando have achieved what they have achieved because they keep asking questions, keep pushing and want more. We have to be prepared and be able to anticipate what he is going to ask,” Krack explained.

Further describing attributes of Alonso, the team boss said, “He will constantly challenge us and strive for more: that is the nature of a true champion. But you can be sure he will get the most out of the car. If we want to grow and become a top team, we need to be able to handle this kind of character. Fernando is exactly what we need.”
