The iconic Circuit de Monaco is probably as old as time. The legendary circuit has, over the decades, seen magic unfold in the arms of Monte Carlo with the best drivers rewriting history every time they step onto the track. One such driver is Fernando Alonso, who is a two-time conqueror of the historic streets. While that happened 15 and 16 years ago, the Spaniard now stands resurrected. Can he do it this time around?
Not discounting anything because we didn’t even see Fernando coming back on the top to fight for podiums, wins, and even aspire to win his 3rd title as his last win was a decade ago. However, as the speed gods have begun conspiring to push the persistent man to the top, a bizarre string of coincidences stands staring.

The official account of Formula 1 posted an interesting update, and it has a twist of Alonso. While we await the Monaco GP even more after the cancellation of Imola, the date of the main race at Monte Carlo has caught our attention after Alonso Tweeted it. In 2006, when the GP was held on the same date, the then reigning world champion and Renault driver, Alonso, took the victory.
Fans declare Fernando Alonso a winner even before he steps foot in Monaco
While 28/05 may have a 2006 significance attached to it, another bizarre coincidence is the sum of that date. It adds up to 33, which is a number the Spanish driver has been chasing for a decade now. Do you see that happening? The Formula 1 world on Instagram is surely manifesting it hard. Take a look at some of their comments:
“So what we are hearing is…”FERNANDO ALONSO WINS THE MONACO GRAND PRIX.”
“AND HERE HE IS CROSSING THE CHEQUERED FLAG! FERNANDO ALONSO WINS THE MONACO GRAND PRIX”
“Coincidence.. I think NOT.”
“Magic alonso”
