Fernando Alonso is in some fine form at the moment. He started P3 in the Belgian GP at Spa and finished in an impressive 5th position. This past Sunday, at the Dutch GP, he raced another praiseworthy race. Despite starting from P13 on the grid, he managed to finish P6 at a track where overtaking is fairly difficult.

However, his performance is not the only thing because of which the Spaniard is in the news lately. A while back, Fernando Alonso announced that he will be moving to Aston Martin next year. Come this past Sunday, we could see the 41-year-old observing the Aston Martin after the Dutch Grand Prix.

The footage was captured by the onboard camera of Mick Schumacher‘s Haas. Alonso was seen inspecting the British constructors, the team he will be racing for in 2023.

Would it be fair to say that Fernando not only replaced Sebastian Vettel as a driver but also took up his role as the paddock inspector?

Alonso’s Alpine teammate, Esteban Ocon, gained 3 places and finished P9 behind Carlos Sainz. This made it Alpine’s 5th consecutive race where both their drivers finished in points position.

Fernando Alonso might be 41, but he still has the same competitiveness and hunger as his early days. Whether Aston Martin builds a competitive car for next year remains to be seen. However, with the competition getting tougher by the day, the Spaniard might find it difficult to finish as high as he has this season with an Aston Martin.

Do you think the veteran can work against the odds and push Aston Martin further up in the table next year?
