It’s every driver’s dream to win championships for Ferrari. But is Ferrari delivering a car fit enough to win Championships? If you’re keeping track of their inconsistent performances on the track, you’d say ‘no’. The latest Miami Grand Prix is yet another of that, and the look on the driver’s faces would say that they are not satisfied with what they’re getting from SF-23.

After finishing in second place last year, they’ve now struggled to even compete with Aston Martin and Mercedes in Miami. Carlos Sainz, who started the race in P3, was incapable of challenging Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, who was just in front of him in P2. As a result, he finished P5 while Alonso finished P3. Clearly, Sainz didn’t enjoy this duel with his fellow Spaniard. The raw performance difference went on to show that Ferrari is nowhere compared to the Aston Martin in terms of race pace.

Looking at this huge drop in their performance, former Ferrari driver Alonso thought of his time in the team and said, as quoted by SoyMotor.com, “With Ferrari, we were always there every year. We never made mistakes and we fought for the World Championship until the last race on two occasions. Fortunately, for me and also for Aston Martin, there is more inconsistency in Maranello now than in the seasons in which I was there.”

The inconsistent results of the car resulted in both drivers being unhappy.

‘Inconsistency’ is the story of Ferrari even in 2023

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were left questioning the inconsistencies that plagued Ferrari’s SF-23, resulting in another race that they would want to forget. Following the conclusion of the race, the Ferrari teammates were pictured having an intense discussion in the parc ferme, and speaking to media afterward, Leclerc revealed what was being said.

“We were just speaking with Carlos and we basically agreed that we have a car that is so incredibly difficult to be on the limit and on my side, I don’t know what was going on but in the high-speed, I had the car moving a lot,” said Leclerc and further added that the car was ‘very inconsistent’ during the race.

But is it all the car’s fault? Or the inconsistency from the drivers matters as well? Even if the team manages to deliver a decent car, we often see the drivers making way too many blunders. During the Miami weekend, Charles Leclerc crashed multiple times in the lead-up to the race and finished seventh in the Grand Prix. This inconsistency and constant crashes is continuing to bother his form. And it’s high time for him to find out why that’s happening and fix it if he wants to win the Championships.
