After years of toiling from team to team without anything to show for it, Fernando Alonso has finally found his sweet spot with Aston Martin. The Spaniard finally has a car that is worthy of his talents, and the team is only going to get stronger. Naturally, the 41-year-old finds himself getting sentimentally attached to his new team. And in what would appear to be an attempt on his part to start with a clean slate, he is choosing to erase the past.

When we think of Alonso, Ferrari sure does pop into our minds. But it isn’t for all the good reasons. With the prancing horse on his side, he was tipped to obliterate the record books. Alas, that never happened, and his time with the Scuderia will always be remembered for his wasted potential.

Irrespective of being an F1 driver for them, Ferrari always has had a soft spot for any motoring enthusiast. It was the same for Fernando Alonso. In his garage, he had the much revered Ferrari Enzo which features a 6.0L naturally aspirated V12 pushing out 660 Horsepower, fetching around $4,000,000. But he decided to auction it off.

Today, the Spaniard came onto his Instagram account to share the deadline for this auction expiring. He posted a photo of the car on his Instagram story and captioned it, “Remember 8th of June. 48h for the auction. My Enzo (scocca number 1) is ready. Good luck to you all.”
