Alonso experienced a majority of his success with Renault in the mid-2000s. He also picked up 2 world titles during that period in 2005 and 2006. However, a move to McLaren and a second stint at Renault was all before his move to Ferrari.
The Spaniard had high hopes for this move. However; it turned out to be underwhelming, with his machinery letting him down. But now, he still shares the opinion that his start to this season was his best since his 2012 season with the Maranello outfit. Alonso would go on to challenge for the title that season, which would ultimately go to Sebastian Vettel.
Although there is going to be no title challenge this season, Fernando has put some amazing performances in. And this is despite the fact that lady luck has not sided with him, with Alonso being the victim of some major misfortune.
No reward for Fernando Alonso’s stellar driving in 2022
Alonso feels that it is unfair that he has only 2 points to his name in 2022. Magic Alonso has sprinkled his magic in all the races so far. However, the results beg to differ.
When quizzed about his feelings on the start of 2022, he said, “The feeling of having only two points in the Championship is a bit strange when I have surely made the best start to the season in the last 10 years, perhaps since 2012,”.
