The Richard Mille watches are the favorites for F1 drivers. Many F1 drivers, from Lando Norris to Daniel Ricciardo and now Fernando Alonso, are Richard Mille fans. The Spaniard is also the brand partner of the watch. The Swiss luxury brand recently launched its latest watch, RM 47 Tourbillon, which costs around $1.04 million. Alonso got his hand on this watch, which he showcased on his Instagram.

This new RM 47 watch takes inspiration from the legendary Japanese incident, revenge of the forty-seven ronin. According to Japanese history, 47 leaderless samurai avenged the death of their master. Further, the concept came across while talking to the two-time F1 world champion Alonso, who is in Japanese culture and art.

Fernando Alonso claims Alpine is faster than Mercedes

The race weekend in Australia could have been the best for Alonso this season. However, it turned out to be his worst week. The two-time world champion missed out on the opportunity to start in the front row. He set the purple middle sector in Q3, but due to a hydraulics issue, he lost control and made contact with the barriers. Subsequently, he had to start the GP in P10.

Fernando started the Melbourne race from tenth place on the grid with hard tires. He was having a phenomenal run and even managed to place his car in p4 during the race. But he dropped to P17 due to a safety car. Alonso believes not only P4 but he could have ended on the podium as the Alpine car was faster than Mercedes.

Alonso reported, “Here I think we were looking for P6 or P7 before the safety car. And obviously, if we take into account yesterday, the podium today was very easy with Max [Verstappen] out. Beating George [Russell] to the podium, I think we were quite fast, a lot faster than the Mercedes in this circuit, so we lost an opportunity.”
