If you don’t believe Fernando Alonso is a changed man, you are not paying attention. The Spaniard infamously made the lives of his teammates and team difficult almost everywhere he went. His time at Alpine is a testament to that. However, with Aston Martin, Alonso is working actively to change this narrative. We have already seen plenty of evidence of it. In fact, it is so evident that even Max Verstappen couldn’t help himself but mock the Spaniard post-Miami GP.
The first instance of kindness toward his teammate came during the Azerbaijan GP. Uncharacteristically, Alonso got on his radio and communicated a message for Lance Stroll that shocked the world. Alonso wanted to share his brake balance configuration with his first rival to help him out. This shocking reality hit again in the sluggish Miami GP race.

Alonso was driving by his lonesome but still had time to watch and compliment his teammate’s brilliant overtaking move. Alonso got on the radio and said, “Which position is Lance? Great move into turn 1.”

That’s right this is the same Alonso who once allegedly tried to bribe his teammate’s engineers. This unseen side of the Spaniard has not only shocked the fans but his fellow drivers as well. A source on Twitter revealed, Verstappen is among those and he couldn’t help but mock Alonso.
“You are like a life coach! At the last race you are like ‘Try my brake balance’!” said Verstappen.

He said, “We have a strong competitor behind us. Ferrari was very strong this weekend and in Baku, there are some updates on their cars. But we’ll do our own race, collect as many points as possible. We’re going to try to beat Checo at Turn 1! It’s good to be ahead of the race, at least for a few laps. After that, we’ll be back in the position we deserve.”
