The Mercedes main man, Toto Wolff, has immense trust and faith in his star racer, and seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton. In an old interview with Sky Sports from the year 2020, the Silver Arrows duo were seen sharing their plans going forward and also getting a bit cheeky with each other.
The men have showcased what good teamwork looks like and therefore, the interviewer, Martin Brundle, couldn’t help himself but ask the two, how they work so well in absolute harmony day in and day out.

The British former racing driver asked, “You go together as gin and tonic, fish and chips, strawberries and cream..”
To this, Lewis quickly responded, “I don’t think you would’ve expected it, would it? You won’t see us walking down the street. You wouldn’t have expected us to be friends.”
“I feel like we’ve been in therapy?” continued to joke Hamilton, who, alongside his boss, has often spoken about the issue of mental health.
To this, a cheeky Toto played along, saying, “Was a little bit.”
With this, the three men gleefully laughed away.
Hamilton and Wolff further share their thought processes as well as the most crucial element that plays the most important role in their partnership.

“I think so,” said Hamilton.
Toto added, “Yeah, we must, because over the course of a season, we have a situation where the trust is being tested. Sometimes when the targets don’t align, we can talk about it. We can say openly. Fundamentally, there is trust between us because we are in this together.”
Lewis concluded, “We’ve told each other, what is basically are goals are. What our aims are, our commitments. Sometimes Toto is like is everything okay? So we always keep the channel open.”
