“Aerodynamics are for people who can’t build engines!” The man behind these famous words will get a nice silver-screen tribute in this upcoming year. Enzo Ferrari, the founder of one of the most iconic car brands Ferrari, has been a big name in F1. Even besides the pinnacle of motorsport, people know Enzo as the one of the greatest car manufacturers in history. Now, a part of his glorious life is going to be in a movie named “Ferrari”. Michael Mann is directing this venture with actor Adam Driver set to play the titular role. Although, fans are a bit skeptical about Driver being cast as Enzo.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie was going to have Hugh Jackman in the lead as Enzo Ferrari. Prior to Jackman, even Christian Bale was in talks for playing Enzo. But Bale pulled out as he could not meet the weight gain requirements. While Jackman left the project by 2022 after consistent delays for the filming to begin.

Mann has been in pursuit of making this biopic on Enzo since 2000. In 2022, he finally settled on Adam Driver to play the great man Ferrari. Recently, some pictures have also been revealed, showing Adam’s first look as the Scuderia founder. Now, after seeing these pictures, there is disappointment swarming the F1 world over Driver’s casting.
Some are suggesting that he is “too tall and thin” to portray Ferrari’s role. They even suggested how the actor could have added 20-25 pounds to look more like Enzo. While some also recalled how he played a role in the 2021 film House of Gucci. It leaves a sentiment of how Adam Driver is the actor who plays historic Italians.
Fans Give Mixed Reactions to Adam Driver playing Enzo Ferrari
Regardless, fans look forward to this Ferrari epic without getting much excited about Adam Driver’s role. Several of them have cited how other actors could have suited more in this iconic role. Fans put their thought on Twitter and Reddit.

Another prime example to the fact his amazing talent was wasted in the sequels.

The movie will show Ferrari’s story from 1957 when he had to balance his personal and professional life. It will feature how Enzo prepared for the 1957 Millie Miglia, a racing event in Italy. If the movie releases in 2023, we shall get to know how accurately has Adam Driver portrayed Enzo Ferrari’s role.
Adam Driver 👌 this will be special and I’m here for it! 🎥 🚘

He's only in it because of Drive to Survive! Liberty is turning the sport American! Or something like that. 😂😂

Too tall and thin. They need to cgi him down about 6” and add 25 pounds.

Was Enzo ever that skinny?

Not many fans liked Driver’s performance in the House of Gucci. Therefore, few are expecting him to nail the Italian accent and behavior of the iconic Ferrari founder. Let’s hope the great man gets a good movie tribute.
Previously, there have been movies on Ferrari’s racing team. The 2019 film Ford vs Ferrari showed the Scuderia’s fight with the Ford Motor Company at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 60s. It showed Enzo Ferrari’s character as well to a decent extent.
Gucci now Ferrari. Is his niche playing historical Italians now? 🙂

Call me crazy, but he should’ve added a solid 20 pounds to get into the role more
