Max Verstappen became the latest among the current grid of F1 drivers to celebrate his birthday this year. Despite competing in his seventh F1 season, it’s hard to imagine that the Dutchman is turning just 24 years old today.
The Red Bull driver’s birthday saw an old update on his father, Jos Verstappen’s website do the rounds on social media. If Max’s life went according to that update, the complexion of F1 could have been very different today.

Jos Verstappen’s 24-year-old website entry resurfaces on his son’s birthday
Jos, who raced for F1 team Tyrrell at the time and his wife Sophie welcomed their son, Max to the family on this day 24 years ago. On that day, Jos’ website shared an update of Max’s birth.
While mentioning details about the newborn baby, the entry mentions Max could make his F1 debut in 2020. Along with featuring on the old website, the update also features on Max’s current website.
The entry reads, “This afternoon Jos and Sophie became the proud parents of a healthy son. His name is Max and he weighs 3265 gram. Max Emilian, as is his full name, is 48,5 cm long. Sophie delivered Max at 13.20 without any complications. The delivery lasted for 40 minutes.
“Max had chosen the right moment to come out. Now Jos and Sophie can enjoy some time with Max before Jos has to leave for Japan. If Max has inherited the racing talents of both his parents a new F1 driver for the year 2020 has been born today.”

Well, as it turns out, not only did Max make his debut in F1, but he made it five years than his parents predicted in 2015. At 17-years-old, the Dutchman is the youngest ever driver to make his F1 debut. Following his debut in 2015, F1 decided to increase the minimum age to 18, which means Verstappen will remain the youngest ever debutant in the sport’s history.
