Now, Lewis Hamilton buys his father Anthony a $2,750,000 gift after Anthony Hamilton gave up his $20,000 life savings to save the Briton’s career. What was it all about?

Motorsport is a very expensive sport to follow and participate in. Lewis Hamilton and his family belong to a very humble background. Hamilton once advised that his dad worked 4 jobs to keep him racing. He further explained how his dad spent his whole life’s earnings and re-mortgaged their house just to fuel his first year of racing, which came out to $25,000. 

Lewis has always been vocal about the essential role that his father played in his racing career and helped him become who he is. Recently news broke out that Lewis Hamilton bought 2 Mercedes AMG 1. @VincenzoLandino suggests that one car is for the 7X World Champions himself, while the other one is for his dad. The AMG one is powered by a 1.6L F1 derived V6TurboHybrid powertrain producing 1049 HP and costs a whopping $2,750,000. The car is the closest thing to an F1 car that one can buy and drive.

However, it wasn’t all roses for Lewis Hamilton and his father, as there were feuds between the two. Anthony Hamilton lost a huge sum of Lewis Hamilton’s earnings in an investment and later the now 7X world champion asked his father to step down from the role he played for Lewis Hamilton. 

Lewis Hamilton asked his dad to step down from the manager’s role

Anthony was Lewis Hamilton’s manager up until the 2010 season. It was the 7X world champion who asked his dad to step down from the role of his manager and suggested his dad is slowly breaking out. Just days before this announcement, some reports suggested that Anthony had lost $20,000,000 in an investment that he made. That 20 Million dollars were Lewis Hamilton’s earnings.

According to Express.co.uk, Anthony Hamilton said, “It was a nightmare. It was like something had died. I was shocked, and devastated. When he said he no longer wanted me as manager it came completely out of the blue because we hadn’t fallen out.” He further added, “And I can honestly say we have both become better people for it. It had to happen at some stage. One would have had to say to the other, ‘I’m leaving you’.”
