In the fast-paced world of motorsport, the only individuals who can support the drivers, management, or anyone involved in this cutthroat competition are their loved ones. While this exact scenario is playing out with Sergio Perez, who, unlike Max Verstappen, is struggling to retain his form from last year and is on a downhill trend, which has sparked a ton of rumors that the team might even fire him. Since the Monaco Grand Prix, he has been unable to qualify for the third round and has seen three consecutive pre-Q3 finishes. In the midst of this, team boss Christian Horner made an odd comment about the Mexican driver, which subsequently sparked discussion on social media and prompted supporters to hop on the Sergio Perez trolling train.

Recently Perez and his wife Carola Martinez joyfully announced their fourth child’s expected birth. Martinez made a statement on social media to confirm the surprising development. Two boys, Sergio Jr. (age 5) and Emilio (age 1), and a daughter, age 3, have already grown up in Perez’s family. And while the Perez family welcomed their third child only last year in May, the news of Perez’s wife Carola being pregnant again has given Christian Horner a chance to poke fun at his team’s driver in a pre-race show at the Silverstone.

In his recent interactions on Friday, Christian Horner was found making a peculiar statement about Perez. The Briton was found  jokingly stating, “If Checo’s not in the car he’s making babies.” His comments ignited Sergio Perez’s Twitter trolling campaign. As soon as the Red Bull boss’ statement gained notoriety, followers on Twitter started trolling him for setting “faster lap times in bedroom.”

Was Christian Horner’s peculiar remarks the sole reason that prompted fans to start a trolling campaign against Sergio Perez?

Perez, on many occasions, has displayed his love for his family and how much he values family time. For example, Perez celebrated this year’s Father’s Day with Emilio Perez, his new baby who is just one-year-old. However, Horner’s odd remark, which sparked a flurry of Twitter activity, also seemed to incite those fans who had witnessed Perez’s wife’s scandalous accusations after the Mexican driver was discovered cozying up to an unknown woman on a yacht after winning the Monaco Grand Prix last year. The incident happened soon after his wife gave birth to their third kid. Later, the Mexican driver claimed responsibility and expressed apologies.

In the midst of this, when Horner made the comments, the spectators immediately surged to their feet to mock the driver. Some responses are listed below.
