Fernando Alonso made his comeback to the sport with Alpine in the 2021 season. The two-time world champion left the sport in 2018 after enduring four frustrating seasons with McLaren.

During the tail-end of his time with the British team, Alonso became popular for his fan and off-track interactions. The two-time world champion was often seen having some fun with the fans. He continued his easy-going and light-hearted fan encounters with the French team.

Recently, a fan took to social media to share his experience of meeting the former world champion in a rather interesting location. A fan clicked a picture with the Alpine driver in the washroom and proudly posted it. The fans on Twitter had a field day while reacting to the tweet and the picture.

“More power on the straights and more downforce in the corner. That is what we are aiming for, all drivers. The trackside is quite strong now. We saw [last year] we scored, both cars in a race where we maybe didn’t have the pace to score with both cars, so we are strong in many areas,” said Alonso.

Let’s wait and see if Alpine can deliver a more competitive package from the off at the start of the next season.
