Becoming a Formula 1 driver is a dream job for many. Travel around the world, get paid in millions, and do what you love for a living. Sounds like a dream until one realizes how stressful it all can be. High stakes often translate to stressful situations and a clip of Max Verstappen from the US GP showcases exactly that.

So the life of an F1 driver is not all fun and games. Verstappen is already a world champion. However, the hunger within him to win every race is extremely hot. The Dutchman showcased that on his team radio conversation after a botched pitstop.

During Verstappen’s pit stop around the 35th lap, a mishap cost the Dutchman precious seconds. Instead of the usual two-second long stop, the Red Bull man was stationary for a massive 11 seconds. This meant Verstappen lost his lead to Lewis Hamilton and exited the pit lane behind Charles Leclerc‘s Ferrari.

The hugely frustrating scenario led to the following radio exchange. Right after the pit stop, Verstappen sarcastically exclaimed, “Beautiful, f**king beautiful!”

This comment got a pacifying response from his race engineer as, “long way to go”. However, Verstappen still wasn’t done bubbling with anger and replied, “yeah, you don’t have to tell me that.”

The frustration was there till the end as Verstappen shut his team’s instructions during his overtaking maneuver on Hamilton. Despite the massive annoyance, the Dutchman got the job done and got the win. However, everyone heard Max Verstappen.

Some fans were in favor of the world champion, pointing out the stressful nature of the sport whilst others poked fun at his antics.
