Is F1 pricing out true fans with these $2,700 Las Vegas GP tickets? What's your take?

Located at the heart of Las Vegas, the 6.2 km long circuit with 17 turns saw some raw F1 action for the first time last year. And with one race at a time, the Nevada desert is close to witnessing speed drama once again. However, Sin City has always been a great blow to the pockets of its visitors. F1 isn’t exempt from the province’s wealth. And it looks like the tickets for the 2024 Las Vegas GP have questionable high rates.

Fans are unhappy with the estimated $2700 ticket prices for the grandstands. Some think race tickets are more expensive than flight tickets from Europe to Las Vegas. Moreover, the complaints that followed the Las Vegas GP last year could follow them this year as well. Unnecessary roadblocks, traffic congestion, and disruptions in local businesses—reiteration is almost inevitable.

Meanwhile, fans have given this monetary matter a touch of humor. Just to keep it clear, this is a way to taunt the organizers for the skyrocketing prices. The fans have a few hilarious demands. If they’re spending a whopping $2700 for a race, then there better be some special perks!

Of course, when there is an outstanding trailblazer like this, the others follow. “Sitting on the drivers’ laps” is just one of the many odd yet funny benefits the supporters are watching out for. There are many more along the way that they wish at the Las Vegas GP.

From wallet pain to laughter, fans respond to Las Vegas GP ticket prices

Last year, the Las Vegas GP became the talk of the town for the glitz and glam it delivered. This year too, the event has become the talk of the town. However, as the expenses are pinching the budget, the organizers have been careful. What if there is a massive drop in the crowd? In 2023, days before the GP race, the ticket prices were lowered to allow the fans to enjoy the race without worrying about the blisters in their purses. And who knows, maybe 2024 will be no different!

Have an interesting take?

But the way fans have reacted is worth commending! They have a few pointers, or demands, rather. And hopefully, if the prices don’t drop, F1 could pick one of these to compensate. An ardent fan hopes to hear Jenson Button’s commentary in person. Imagine this: Button, sitting beside the fans and flaring out his words of wisdom about the race. It wouldn’t be so odd, right?

We all need Nico Rosberg‘s haircare routine! We don’t see why he shouldn’t be called ‘Britney’. He’s a one-time champ, a blunt critic, and to top it off, he has outstanding blonde hair. Sir, you better tell us your secrets before we all end up with receding hairlines. Every race comes with its own package of surprises, and maybe the 2024 Las Vegas GP’s surprise package would include Rosberg’s secret to extraordinary hair.

You’d be surprised to know the air ticket fares from Las Vegas to Europe. The prices start at $170. Yes, you’ve read that right. But of course, the prices shift as per the distance. Now, compared to this, the passes for the Las Vegas GP are exponentially high. Moreover, the European GP races are comparatively cheaper, and you could even get a nice hotel to stay in.

CNN reported last year that the prices had to be brought down due to low ticket sales. The prices for the Friday races were initially around $1100, which came down to $259. The reports also stated that the organizers of the Las Vegas GP had to bring down the cost because Max Verstappen had already won the championship the previous week! However, there could (and most probably will be) be a drop in prices soon. F1 surely wouldn’t want to lose revenue over some pricey passes.

Another fan demanded to experience a hot lap with a driver of their choice! [bombastic side eyes] The deal isn’t so bad. Given how the Las Vegas GP is ready to set our wallets on fire, a hot lap wouldn’t do much harm. But the question is, where would the fan sit in the car? It’s a single-seater, and the extra weight would slow down their favorite ones.

Fans have sportingly participated in this hilarious banter. But this absolutely doesn’t mean that the event organizers can ignore how exorbitant the tickets are. And they must do something about it if they wish to have another successful Las Vegas GP. It’s the fans that make a race successful, and a circuit with fewer fans would be truly disappointing for the drivers.
