The CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali has spoken about the possibility of ever hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix in Russia again. Speaking to Sport Bild Domenicali proclaimed, “There will be no more racing in Russia.”.

This comes after Russia was removed from the Formula 1 calendar due to the rising tension between Russia and Ukraine.
This is surely a strong statement of intent from Formula 1 management. In recent times, F1 has come up with many initiatives to tackle and address social issues. Domenicali has clearly set a strong example for other sports to follow in light of the entire conflict.
This latest statement by the CEO of F1 has garnered a lot of positive responses from the fans.
Formula 1 fans react to Stefano Domenicali’s Russia comments
ESPNF1 posted Domenicali’s comments on their Instagram page. Here are just a few of the fan comments. One user wrote, “Thats great news!! Sochi was a not so great track anyway.”
Whilst another user was quick to question F1’s intention by commenting, “Let’s see in 5 years they will race there again.”
However, generally, there is consensus amongst the fans that this decision by the sport is for the good.

Another fan was quick to shoot that F1 should “keep Spa!!”.
Further, fans were also quick to suggest replacements for the outgoing race. One user suggested, “Definitely Kyalami GP or Cape Town has to Replace it.”
