The Mercedes man, who has registered a race win in each of his last 15 seasons, is yet to do so in the current season. The regulations played a big part in that as Mercedes struggled through most of the first half of the season. However, the regulations did could not close the gap on the grid between the teams, with Red Bull being head and shoulders above the competition.

Ferrari put up a fight, but the Italian team is now lagging in both championship standings. Commenting about the same to Sky Sports, Hamilton said, “It’s not achieved what it was supposed to achieve, so we’ve failed in that. When you fail once, you try again, and if you fail a second time, you continue to try.”

“I hope that more changes are made to try and bring all the teams closer and create better equality throughout the racing space. It’s my hope we can all be closer. Red Bull has walked away with it this year, they’ve done a great job,” Hamilton concluded.
