Remember when Lewis Hamilton praised Lando Norris for being a great driver? Lando Norris has arguably been the best young driver of the lot. The Briton has proved his mettle with his performances over the year. Just as Norris was rumored to have a Red Bull future after being praised by the Red Bull taskmaster, a Ferrari connection has surfaced. What is this connection?

Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been dominating the F1 field. The challenge proposed by Sergio Perez has gone away with the Mexican driver putting up lackluster performances. Helmut Marko called Lando Norris the ” Strongest of the young drivers” and advised that his nature will suit him better at Red Bull. Also, Liberty Media has supposedly asked Red Bull to sign a competitive driver next to Max Verstappen so that despite the dominance, a title fight between the teammates is there. Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are said to be the target.

However, a recent revelation made by Joe Saward in his F1 Blog reveals that Lando Norris might already have a pre-contract in place with Ferrari. According to joesaward.wordpress.com, Saward in his blog said “Lando may already have some kind of pre-contract with Ferrari. I cannot see that as being a logical career path, given where Ferrari currently is, but then going to Red Bull and trying to beat Max Verstappen is also a career path from hell.”

Saward did suggest that either a move to Ferrari or Red Bull will have repercussions. Ferrari isn’t in the best of shape and Red Bull has Max Verstappen who seems unstoppable at the moment. Saward did go on to suggest that he’s just mentioning the chit-chat from the paddock and nothing is guaranteed. Norris’ Red Bull switch seems even more far-fetched now that Daniel Ricciardo is back in the running for the other Red Bull seat

Nyck De Vries was given a warning earlier in the season to improve his performance. But why was he sacked all of a sudden? Why did Daniel Ricciardo accept the drive in a backmarker car? Sources suggest that it’s a test for the Honey Badger and if he meets the criteria and performs well, then he’ll be promoted to the top team next to Max Verstappen

According to Maximaal.nl, Erik van Haren told De Telegraaf, “Over the next six months, Ricciardo will have to show Red Bulls CEO Helmut Marko that he is still a fast driver. In that case, he can be promoted to the top team again. That’s why Ricciardo is already immediately replacing De Vries and there is not even waiting for the summer break.” [Translated via Google]
