It is so nice to see that the rookie Zhou Guanyu walked away from a very scary crash unscathed. The Alfa Romeo driver got into a tangle with George Russell in the first corner of the race.

The incident sent him rolling down quite literally on the track to the fencing around the barriers. Zhou was stuck in his car for a long time and fans had no information about his condition.

But it was later cleared that the Chinese driver was fit and stable. Zhou himself took to social media afterward to provide an update on his conditions to millions of fans around the world.

“I’m ok, all clear. Halo saved me today. Thanks, everyone, for your kind messages!” said Zhou. F1 fans were delighted to hear from the driver and took to Twitter to praise the use of halo on the F1 cars.

George Russell had a front-row view of the whole incident and was quick to help the ailing driver.

The Mercedes driver was the one that tangled with Zhou after he himself got pinched from behind. In his post-race interview, Russell mentioned that he was glad to know that the Chinese driver was okay.

“Firstly, I’m glad to see Zhou’s OK. An incredibly scary incident, not just for him, but for everyone in the crowd as well. It’s never nice to see. It was horrible, in that position he was stuck there, nothing he could have done,” said Russell.
