Twitter – you must have heard of this place, especially in the last few months. To get relevant, Twitter for F1 fans is a place to go to talk about their beloved sport. While there are some good insightful conversations, the F1 Twitter community has its fair share of demons too. And as per the latest development, after businessman Elon Musk took over Twitter, the social media platform might implode and shut down.

Many fans condemn the F1 Twitter community as a toxic place with lots of drivers’ fanbase targeting each other and other drivers. The sheer amount of toxicity and banter can sometimes be quite disturbing. Although yes, the insightful interactions do bring a sense of relief. Also, we can not forget the hilarious banter that F1 teams get into on race weekends.
Nonetheless, #RIPTwitter is trending on the social media platform, as many employees of the global platform have resigned. This is pointing toward an implosion of the platform with a likely shutdown, as a result of the Elon Musk takeover.
F1 teams and fans have become a part of the trend and are reacting to the situation, perhaps by tweeting their final messages. Many might feel that the toxicity of F1 Twitter will go away, though the F1 community will have to find an alternative platform if Twitter really goes down.

AlphaTauri admin reacted with an image of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda having dinner. Just look at the parallels of how this picture represents so many F1 fans not caring about the Twitter meltdown caused by Elon Musk.

Mercedes too tweeted its Instagram handle, just in case Twitter closes down. The Silver Arrows always put some good banter out there.

The sheer level of craze to tweet that where would they banter about the drivers and teams they dislike in F1. That’s social media trolls and F1 Twitter for you!
No wonder some fans will be happy if this really happens.
One good thing about #RIPTwitter is actually that the toxic #F1Twitter bubble will cease to exist. https://t.co/CT0KG6uimS

Time will tell what happens to everyone’s favorite bird app. With the final race of the F1 season this weekend, this might be the last race Twitter is online. We hope for the best that as we get into the 2023 season, fans can share their thoughts on Twitter.
