Lewis Hamilton is largely synonymous with Formula 1. The seven-time world champion gave the sport a whole new level of popularity, thanks to his friends from different sports. However, for a man who’s mainly into Formula 1, is there any other sport he would like to try when he hangs his overalls? The F1 titan explained.

Talking about his post-retirement wishes and the sports he follows, Hamilton stated in 2018, “I don’t watch Le Mans or Touring Cars. Except for MotoGP.” When asked if he would take an opportunity to drive in the category, he conveyed, “That I love! MotoGP, I would do.”
However, the Briton also shared that his MotoGP stint will not be a professional one. “It wouldn’t be an option, however, after Formula 1. Professionally at least. I only want to do something and be the best at it,” the 37-year-old said to Monochrome.

“I do believe if I had started earlier, maybe at a young age. But if you think right now, if I go to MotoGP, the experience the drivers have, I could never catch up. And trying to catch up, most likely I’ll break something and get injured!” concluded the friend of Valentino Rossi.

Valentino Rossi is a legendary name for motorsport lovers. A legend in the sport, the Italian is synonymous with Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton of Formula 1 and he is friends with the Mercedes star driver.

The duo share a close connection and has been present in each other’s races in the past. As Hamilton has already said that he follows MotoGP, Rossi’s retirement isn’t something he loved to know at least.
Talking about this to Sky Sports, Hamilton once revealed about Valentino Rossi’s retirement, “It’s obviously sad to see him stop.” The F1 star further stated, “It’ll just be sad not to be watching the races and seeing him ride in style, as he usually does.”

Most recently in Valencia, Spain, Hamilton and Rossi swapped rides as the F1 star took Rossi’s VR46 Yamaha for a ride. Whereas the MotoGP ace took Hamilton’s LH44 Mercedes for a spin. All in all, the duo shares an amicable relationship and as for Hamilton, he holds a special place for MotoGP in his life.
